DESCRIPTION OF SCHOOLING
Our instructors have a license to conduct training to all methods, but through years of experience we have found that the most appropriate method is a combination of Tandem& AFF. In this method, the student performs two jumps in tandem, while executing exercises. The advantage of this is to get guidance from the instructor directly when they are needed (especially appropriate at the stage of flying the canopy and landing) . Then we continue with the AFF method, where the first jump is with two instructors holding the student in free-fall and giving him guidance and corrections with pre-agreed hand signals while the student performs exercises. Under canopy the student gets instructions over a radio, that way we guide him safely to the ground. The following jumps are performed with one instructor. You have to pass all categories, this means specific exercises for each category (covering a left and right 360 turn, backflip, front-flip,tracking, speed control in free-fall and forward movement) . The purpose of these maneuvers is to be exposed to an unstable situation, whether intentionally or accidentally, the student will be abletoreturn toa controlled and stable position. Instructors assess when a student meets the requirements of each level/category and is ready to move to the next level. In the event of a student forgetting to monitor the altitude and doesn’t open the canopy, the instructors use hand signals to show the student that he/she should open the canopy. If a student fails to open, despite the signs thenthe instructor physically moves the student’s hand on the handle to open the canopy. If even in this case a student does not react, the instructoropens the canopy. Only when a student masters the independent canopy opening, then he/she moves to the next level. At a level when a student and instructor jump out of an airplane unlinked (means there is no contact between them)the instructor is in the immediate vicinity of the student during the free fall, but not in physical contact. The instructor is directly on standby if the jump is not going according to plan and intervention is required. The advance into this phase, as already mentioned, is only possible after the student shows the necessary knowledge and progress in the previous jumps. All jumps are recorded and after the jump we make a video debrief, enabling faster progress since a student sees exactly what needs to be corrected. After completing the AFF course, you get permission to jump alone in the presence of an instructor at the DZ. After a few jumps and some extraexercises a student can start jumping with other skydivers. When you reach 50 jumps, necessary to get the license, you’re already jumping in groups along with three or four skydivers.
